Studio Setup Wizard

When you open Agon for the first time, a short wizard guides you through creating your manager account and your studio. This page explains what each step does and what to expect.

The wizard has three steps and takes about 2 minutes to complete. Nothing is created or saved until you finish the final step, so you can go back and change anything before that. You can change these settings again later from Settings.

Step 1 — Studio and manager account​

Enter:

  • Studio name — shown to your clients in the mobile app
  • Timezone — all class times are stored and displayed in this timezone; choose the timezone where your studio is physically located
  • Your full name
  • Your email address — used to log in
  • Your password — must be at least 12 characters

Click Continue. Your account isn't created yet at this point — these fields are only validated and held until you finish the wizard in Step 3.

You can add your studio's address and other details later from Settings → Studio Profile.

Step 2 — Payments​

Choose how you want to accept payments for memberships:

Connect Stripe (optional) If you want clients to be able to purchase memberships directly from the mobile app, connect your Stripe account now. Money goes directly to your own Stripe account — Agon is never involved in the transaction.

Skip for now If you prefer to handle payments in person — cash, bank transfer, or a physical card reader — skip this step. You can still record those payments in Agon for your records, and connect Stripe later from Settings → Payments.

Step 3 — Complete​

Agon shows your studio's QR code. Clicking Go to Dashboard is what actually creates your studio and manager account.

  • Clients scan this QR code to connect the Agon mobile app to your studio. You can download it as an image from this screen, or find it again later in Settings → Mobile App.
  • The AI Assistant isn't set up here. Add your own AI provider key (or a local model) anytime in Settings → AI Assistant — until then, the assistant searches the documentation for you instead of answering free-form questions.

Save your recovery code​

Right after your account is created, Agon shows a one-time recovery code. This is the only way to reset your manager password if you ever forget it, and it is never shown again. Check the box confirming you've saved it somewhere safe — for example, a password manager — before you can continue; there is no way to skip or come back to this screen later.

Backups​

Agon automatically backs up your database every night to a local folder on this computer. There is no cloud backup option and nothing to configure — it happens on its own in the background.

What if something goes wrong?​

I made a mistake in my studio details You can change your studio name, timezone, and other details after setup. Go to Settings → Studio Profile.

I accidentally skipped Stripe — can I connect it later? Yes. Go to Settings → Payments at any time.

I lost my recovery code Save it the moment it's shown — it can't be displayed again. If you lose it and later forget your password, there is currently no way to recover access to that account, so store it somewhere safe (such as a password manager) right away.
